What is the SynergyMed Veterinary Ablation System?
The SynergyMed system is a non-surgical treatment platform designed for the localized ablation of superficial tumors in companion animals. It uses controlled electromagnetic energy, tumor-injected nanoparticles, thermal sensing, and proprietary algorithms to selectively heat and ablate tumor tissue without damaging the surrounding healthy tissue.
What types of tumors can be treated?
The technology is designed for superficial tumors. Potential applications include soft tissue sarcomas, mast cell tumors, squamous cell carcinomas, and mammary tumors.
How does the treatment work?
Nanoparticles are injected directly into the tumor. A specialized non-invasive external applicator then delivers electromagnetic energy that interacts with the nanoparticles and produces localized heating within the tumor. Thermal sensing and proprietary software algorithms monitor and control the heating process and the thermal dose.
Is the treatment non-invasive?
In terms of the electromagnetic applicator, the treatment is non-invasive. However, the nanoparticles are injected into the tumor and very thin thermal sensors are placed into the tumor and surrounding tissue as part of the procedure. The latter step is minimally invasive.
How long does the treatment take?
The active treatment is designed to take approximately 10 minutes. Total appointment time may vary depending on patient preparation, anesthesia, tumor characteristics, monitoring, and recovery.
Does the treatment require anesthesia?
Anesthesia requirements are determined by the treating veterinarian based on the patient and treatment plan. In many cases, general anesthesia is required. The system is designed to reduce procedure and anesthesia time compared with conventional surgical treatment.
How does the system protect surrounding healthy tissue?
The system is designed to concentrate heat within the nanoparticle-injected tumor while limiting thermal exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. Temperature is monitored throughout the procedure, and the system’s algorithms precisely control the heating process.
Is MRI or real-time imaging required during treatment?
No. The SynergyMed treatment does not require costly real-time image guidance, such as MRI, during the procedure.
Can multiple tumors be treated in one session?
Yes. The system is designed to treat multiple suitable superficial tumors during the same treatment session. Eligibility depends on the location, size, and clinical characteristics of each tumor.
What are the main benefits compared with surgery?
SynergyMed provides a non-surgical alternative for selected superficial tumors. The treatment is designed to reduce procedure time, recovery time, cosmetic damage, and risks associated with surgical incisions, including bleeding and infection.
What happens to the tumor after treatment?
The treated tumor tissue gradually decreases in volume following ablation. In the animal cases presented, tumor reduction occurred over the following days and weeks, with no visible scarring or cosmetic damage. Results vary according to the patient, tumor type, size, and location.
How quickly can the animal recover?
The system is designed to support shorter recovery compared with surgery because no surgical removal or incision is required. Actual recovery time is on the order of days to weeks depending on the tumor size, type, and location.
Can SynergyMed reduce the need for amputation?
For selected superficial tumors, SynergyMed may provide a tissue-preserving alternative when surgery could require extensive removal or amputation. The device was already used to treat tumors on limbs in order to avoid amputation. Suitability must be determined by the treating veterinarian for each individual case.
Is the outcome guaranteed?
No medical treatment can guarantee the same outcome for every patient. Results depend on factors including tumor type, size, location, stage, and the animal’s overall health. The treating veterinarian evaluates each case and determines the appropriate treatment and follow-up plan.
How can a clinic or commercial partner discuss the system?

5 questions
Which human oncology applications are being explored?
SynergyMed is being developed for human oncology applications including breast cancer, superficial tumors, skin cancer, head and neck cancer, thyroid tumors, brain tumors, and palliative-care settings where a non-surgical option may be valuable. The current main focus of SynergyMed is breast cancer treatment. Pre clinical studies performed using breast cancer cell line were successful.
Is the human oncology system commercially available?
No. The human oncology device is currently under research and development. The company is preparing for a pre-sub meeting with the FDA to discuss the regulatory pathway for the human device. Research, clinical, and partnership discussions can begin through the Contact page.
How does the human platform relate to thermal ablation and hyperthermia?
The human-device strategy centers on thermal ablation and controlled hyperthermia to support selective tumor targeting while reducing unnecessary impact on surrounding healthy tissue. Temperature control, tumor targeting, and precision heating are essential elements of a succesfull treatment, which SynergyMed device provides.
What patient needs is the human platform intended to address?
SynergyMed is being developed as a non-surgical approach intended to improve the quality of life, reduce surgical burdens associated with conventional surgery, including incisions, scarring, recovery time, and cosmetic impact. Clinical performance and patient suitability remain subject to research, regulatory review, and clinician assessment.
Where can research or partnership conversations start?
Research, clinical, investment, and partnership discussions can start on the Contact page. The Technology page provides a broader overview of the platform.

6 questions
What does the SynergyMed platform combine?
SynergyMed combines thermal ablation, biocompatible magnetic nanoparticles, controlled electromagnetic energy, thermal sensing, and smart algorithms to support precise oncology workflows for human and veterinary applications.
How do microwave ablation, radio frequency ablation, and hyperthermia fit into the platform?
The platform is designed around multiple energy-delivery strategies, including microwave ablation, radio frequency ablation, and hyperthermia, so research and clinical partners can evaluate the most suitable approach for specific tumor settings.
What does thermal oncology mean at SynergyMed?
Thermal oncology refers to the controlled use of heat within an oncology treatment workflow. SynergyMed has developed heat-based ablation approaches designed to concentrate treatment within a tumor while monitoring temperature and limiting unnecessary thermal exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
What role do nanoparticles play?
Magnetic nanoparticles strongly absorb electromagnetic energy, and convert it into heat. As they are injected only into the target tumor, the tumor is heated and destroyed while surrounding tissues are not affected.
Which tumor areas are being targeted?
The current application focus includes solid and superficial tumors across human and veterinary oncology, with emphasis on breast cancer for humans, and mast cell tumors, mammary tumors, squamous cell carcinoma, soft tissue sarcoma for veterinary applications.
Why is the platform being developed for both human and veterinary oncology?
There is an unmet need for a non-surgical alternative for treating superficial cancer tumors both for human and veterinary applications.

5 questions
Who should request a SynergyVet quote?
Veterinary hospitals, practice owners, medical directors, hyperthermia & ablation research institutions, and clinical buyers evaluating an oncology products can use the Request a Quote on our website to begin a qualified procurement conversation.
Is SynergyVet available for veterinary procurement?
Yes. SynergyMed is ready to discuss veterinary device sales, demonstrations, configuration, quote requests, and procurement next steps with qualified clinics and institutions.
What clinical grounding can buyers review?
SynergyMed has collaborated with The Ohio State University and conducted clinical trials in dogs. Available study context can be discussed during a qualified quote or demonstration conversation.
How is the approximately $2.5M annual opportunity calculated?
The illustrative example uses 16 dogs per week, $3,000 in modeled revenue per procedure, and 52 weeks, producing $2,496,000 in modeled annual gross revenue opportunity. Clinic costs and results vary, so buyers should adjust the ROI calculator for their own practice.
What happens after I request a quote?
The SynergyMed team reviews your clinic, role, buying timeline, and clinical interest, then discusses configuration, demonstration timing, setup, and procurement requirements before preparing the appropriate pricing package and delivery.
